2017 INFINITI Q60

The INFINITI Q60 has grown into itself since its introduction in 2013, evolving into an impressive package that combines the reliability and value-minded design of Nissan with performance and superior fit and finish befitting a luxury brand. But even though the Q60 had become a top-tier sport coupe, INFINITI saw room for improvement, and saw the potential to create something faster, more dominant – the Q60 Red Sport.

From the outside, the Q60 Red Sport differentiates itself from the rest of the Q60 family. While the body is shaped the same, there are hints throughout – unique 19-inch aluminum alloy wheels clad in summer conventional tires, or all-season run-flats if opting for the all-wheel drive edition. A moonroof is standard, but what really sets the Red Sport apart from the rest of the line are the extra-large, red-painted brake calipers along with the unique dual exhaust tips with brushed satin finish.

Under the hood, the Q60 Red Sport is all performance. A twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine turns out 400 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque, putting it down to the pavement through a seven-speed automatic transmission and the choice of rear- or all-wheel drive. This provides for impressive straight-line speed, pinning the passengers back in the seat when pushed for maximum acceleration – it can hit 60 miles per hour from a standing start in five seconds flat. Steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters give a racy feel while shifting through manual-shift mode.

2017 INFINITI Q60

One of the greatest draws of the INFINITI Q60 Red Sport is the ability to customize the driving experience. It isn’t just selecting from preset driving modes, although the INFINITI Drive Mode Selector is standard with five presets and a Personal Mode. The available second-generation “drive-by-wire” Directive Adaptive Steering and Rack Electronic Power Steering system have evolved from the first generation, and offer seven different settings. Heightened steering feedback and the ability to make hundreds of adjustments per second allows DAS to provide more precise maneuverability while at the same time reducing driver fatigue. On top of that, the available Dynamic Digital Suspension adjusts dampers while monitoring body roll, pitch, and bounce rate for an improved ride and drive.

2017 INFINITI Q60

Beyond performance, one of the hallmarks of INFINITI has been pleasing comfort inside smartly-equipped, technologically-advanced cabins. Despite the sport performance underneath the hood, the Q60 Red Sport follows through with a cruising feel inside. Leather-appointed seating features semi-aniline leather, while standard carbon fiber interior trim can be upgraded to Maple Wood accents or Silver Optic Fiber interior trim. Aluminum accented pedals and footrest add a sporty twist to the cockpit. Sport-type front seats provide extra support through up-tempo maneuvers. Standard driver’s seat occupant memory with entry/exit assist is linked to individual INFINITI Intelligent Keys, and is the perfect feature for a vehicle with multiple drivers.

The heart of the infotainment system is the dual-screen INFINITI InTouch system with available Navigation. Tied into a Bose Performance Series Audio System and with features including Bluetooth Phone and voice recognition for audio and vehicle-information system, it is a powerful unit for constant connectivity. USB ports for iPod interface or flash drives, along with streaming audio via Bluetooth, allows for a variety of media to connect.
